Musicians of every generation, samba lovers and friends come together in a relaxed yet wonderfully communal atmosphere to share music, conversation and drinks, often singing and playing until late into the night.

Chris Quade Couto, Nego Dó, Maxim Zettel, Tam Silva, Jonivon Freitas and their fellow musicians bring this authentic piece of Brazil to life in Germany as Roda de Samba do Alemão. With their passion for samba, they share the spirit of Brazil with audiences of every background. For Brazilians living abroad, their concerts also offer a little taste of home and a chance to ease that familiar feeling of saudade – a longing for the people and places we love.

Roda de Samba do Alemão has become an established part of Germany’s Brazilian music scene. Beyond musical excellence, the band creates the spontaneous, joyful atmosphere that makes each live performance a shared experience.

Our repertoire goes far beyond a traditional roda de samba. We love samba de raiz and pagode, of course, but with three musicians from Bahia, our sets also feature samba de roda from Bahia, axé, samba-reggae, MPB and many Brazilian classics. Almost every show ends up with the whole audience singing along.
